A beautifully remote beach retreat 40 minuets north of Malindi. The last 3km is on sand, surrounded by giant dunes and enclosed by palm and pine trees. Extraordinary to the eye and yet difficult to photograph, Che Shale sand constitutes about 15% iron pyrites or “Fools Gold” making the beach sparkle and the water seemingly full of gold glitter.
This was my second visit, with the first in 2013. The only noticeable change was the height of the palm trees! Such a comfort that things haven’t changed here, it’s a refreshing change from the frantic pace of life elsewhere.
